Tournament Policies

Thanks for registering for our event! A couple of quick reminders for you and your team to make the day run more smoothly:

This is a Yankee/NERVA-USAV sanctioned tournament. All players must be Yankee/USAV members before stepping onto the court. It would most convenient for you to fill out the membership application online and bring in your signed waiver and check. Click here for details http://mysite.verizon.net/judyvb/application.html doing so will also get you a discounted membership for the season. Applications will also be available the morning of the tournament. Please come early if you need to register. Cost for membership is $35 if you do the online application, $40 if you register in person and $15 for a one-day membership. Please note the following: if you do not appear on the Yankee Registrar’s Membership List as of the Friday before the tournament you Must complete a new application and pay the fee before playing. You may pursue a refund via the registrar if there has been an error. All registrations must be complete before your team steps on the court. Failure to do so will be grounds for a forfiet of any game played by a non-member, please ensure that all of your teams players have registered before your team plays or works.

Yankee does offer a club membership for Jr’s and Collegiate Club teams which is $75 per team good for 4 tournaments. Club team participants must still complete membership forms at each event. See www.yankee.org for more details.

We will start play promptly at 9:00. A brief captain’s meeting to go over the ground rules for the day will precede this. Captain’s call will be 8:45. We must be out of the gym by 6:00 so it’s imperative we start on time.

All teams will work a certain number of matches during the day. Responsibilities include two line judges, a 2nd Referee (bring a whistle), scorekeeper and 2nd scorekeeper/libero tracker. If you’re not familiar with these responsibilities please let me know and I can get you more information. If you’re unclear about your team’s work responsibilities please ask before the tournament or ask the TD or an official before it’s time for your team to work. Please note the during friendship tournaments teams will provide both up and down referees.

Please submit your completed roster online via www.yankee.org/roster by 11:00 PM the Thursday before the tournament.

All players must have appropriately numbered shirts (1-99 whole numbers). While it is not necessary that they match for Yankee Tournaments they must have numbers on both the front and back, the front numbers must be at least 4” and the back must be at least 6”. These numbers must be permanent, marker is acceptable as long as it is legible from the scorer’s table.. tape is not!

Locker Room Facilities are available at the CT Sports Center for your convenience. The CTSC has asked that I remind you that there is no outside food or beverage (ex. water) permitted. The Sports Center Cafe will be open for breakfast, snacks, beverages during the tournament and adult beverages after play is over.

Cancellation policy:
More than 2 weeks before tournament-full refund. Less than 2 weeks before tournament-full refund if your team can be replaced with a team from the waitlist. Forfeit entry fee if team cannot be replaced or if tournament does not fill.

Weather Cancellation Policy:
All team captains will be contacted via email and phone
numbers they provided by 6:30 AM the morning of the
tournament if there is a change of start time or
cancellation due to weather.
